Monday, August 10, 2015 I'm standing on the corner of 23rd and 8th Avenue in New York City. The locals hustle and bustle along their daily routines, but I have come to set my feet upon the spot that all KISS fans know as the area where the DRESSED TO KILL cover photo was snapped. The legendary photo, captured by rock and roll photographer extraordinaire Bob Gruen, is a favorite among KISS fans because of the bizarre mixture of the four made-up rockers dressed in somewhat ill-fitting suits. On this day I try to imagine what it must have been like for Peter, Ace, Paul and Gene to stand on that corner, in broad day light, as the camera clicked, hoping to capture that vibe of that moment. What did the locals think back then as these four mysterious masked men posed for the now iconic photo? Fun stuff. Thanks to my wife, Amy Porter, for snapping some photos for me on that same spot, and for putting up with all of my nutty ideas. - Matt | |

It's on my bucket list to see all the Kiss sites in NY especially Electric Lady Land.

Wow!! That is such a cool thing to be able to do! I hope you talk about it on this month's show! My favorite KISS podcast.

Matt, VERY COOL photo! However, knowing you for so long I have to ask....Did you drag that trash can away from the Crosswalk sign your leaning on, all the way over to the corner for a better photo? hahah In one of your friends posted photos it's sitting right at the pole and would look awful in your album cover re-creation shot. (Or did you just luck out and it was already moved?) What's the story behind your photo? If I'm right, did Amy snap any pics of you moving it? hahaha ;)

It looks like the car in the background of the published KISS picture was a 1975 Buick Regal.
