KISS Fans, Here's a kind of a random thought for the day. Have you ever listened to a KISS song and wondered WHO they were writing about? I was listening to DYNASTY last night and "MAGIC TOUCH" came on. When Paul is singing "...in the night... in the crowd...she'll be there...as she dances by... you watch... while your dreams fade away."... and it made me wonder, was that based on a real moment? Everyone has had that 'oh hey, there's my ex-girlfriend' moment, right? I love talking to artists about what inspires them and it's always interesting to get those kind of stories, the ideas that inspired a certain song or painting or work of art. Can you imagine an entry in Gene Simmons song writing journal, where he jots down his ideas... Wow... met this super hot Playboy playmate tonight... and when I go thru her it's just like a hot knife... thru butter... hey.. use that line in a song! Obviously there are many KISS songs written about the women they have known and loved, so one might think that some of the songs would be based on real people, right? Has Gene ever written a song about Shannon? Was Shandi a real person? Is Christine Sixteen a grandma? She's probably around 52 years old by now. Hmmmmm.... Yes... the things that I think about. THE KISS ROOM is live this Thursday, August 15 from 3-5PM EST on Montco Radio. Join us. - Matt | |

Interesting topic! I do believe many songs were inspired by relationships and also heart breaks; broken-hearted moments always make great songs (laughs).
